An e-newsletter for womxn and allies in tech
I’m so happy you’re here.
Welcome back to our second edition of the 2021 Objective-She monthly newsletter! It’s the month of love and we are vibing. As always, we hope you are hydrated and energized to finish the month of February off strong.
And Fam, we are definitely ending the month on a high note with our very own Objective-She puppers! Welcome Drake the Champagne Puppi to the family :) He’s a 9 weeks old Golden Doodle and his mama and aunts are sooooo thankful for this little bundle of joy. He begins duty as official Chief Paw Officer once crate training is over.
Mk, enough with the cheesy puppy love, let’s dive into our newsletter and share some more exciting news about a woman working her magic at the place where dreams and stories are created.
February Spotlight: Bozoma Saint John
ICYMI, Bozoma joined Netflix as their Chief Marketing Officer back in June 2020. We wanted to take a moment to feature and admire her as she nestles into her first year.
We know and respect Boz because of the time she spent at Uber. From all the stories we’ve heard from fellow colleagues, she was incredibly well respected and beloved, especially within the Brand Experience and Marketing organization.
What does this mean for Netflix? Aside from an elevated marketing and brand strategy, they now have a vibrant, powerful, joyful leader in their midst. And as far as storytelling is concerned, we love her presence and connection with Gen Z and millenials. How many business leaders at FAANG are actually directly authentically connecting with consumers? And looking gorgeous while doing so? Yup, we’ll wait. In the meantime, cue her Tiktok for some badass career advice.
Today in Fintech
The startup world is all abuzz with Whitney Wolfe Herd taking Bumble public on the New York Stock Exchange. She’s now the third woman to accomplish this incredibly company milestone. Congrats to the entire team! It truly is an inspiration for womxn founders.
In the volatile world of finance, another shining star is making its way through thanks to Tesla and all the hodlrs shooting for the moon. The price of Bitcoin is slowly stabilizing, and there’s a lot of buzz around cryptocurrencies as more retail investors and institutions want to get in on the hype. If you find yourself new to the space and curious about how to dip your toes, we’ve got you! We’re actively working on bringing you a Bitcoin 101 virtual series to help you understand the ever evolving world of Bitcoin, Ethereum and more. We’ll have a few domain experts, who also happen to be beloved in the space, come on in the coming weeks so stay tuned for more information on that.

Gratitude & Reflection
January was a whirlwind of a month, and we got through it! Right now, we are so very grateful for our amazing engineering team. They’re actively building the Discover section of our Objective-She website. We’re also reflecting on all the work we’ve been putting into creating this community. To be brutally honest, it hasn’t been easy to do the work, but we are continuously pushing forward because we believe in the importance of community. With that, if anyone’s interested in getting involved, feel free to reach out. We’d love to meet you!
